If you are experiencing minor back pain, you may not think it warrants a trip to your medical doctor’s office, so you don’t bother to do anything more than take pain relievers to dull the pain. However, you may want to consider a trip to the chiropractor in order to have your back examined. While the pain may be minor, it could result from a condition that will only get worse if you ignore it and it might be something that is easily resolved with chiropractic adjustments.

The Problems of Self-Diagnosis

When you have back pain, you may not think anything of it if you workout frequently or if you have a job that involves physical labor. While it could be just muscle strain, that usually resolves itself in a few days and if you are still having pain, you may want to make an appointment with a local chiropractor. Chronic or persistent pain in the same area could be a symptom of a larger issue. You should also consider visiting a chiropractor if you’re still having pain from an injury even after multiple medical treatments. There could be an underlying issue the medical doctors haven’t spotted or there could be pressure being put on the nerves from a subluxated joint that a chiropractor can resolve with manual manipulations. They may also use massage therapy to loosen up muscles and get the blood circulating in the area of the injury.

If you have a job in which you sit down most of the time or if you are doing the same task over and over again, you may need to see a chiropractor to get corrective adjustments or other therapies to help loosen muscles and achieve better results. You need to have great posture if you have a sit down job and, unfortunately, too many of us slump when we’re sitting down.

This can put undo pressure on your spine and other joints, which is something a chiropractor can help treat. Sitting in a chair for 8 to 10 hours a day is not healthy for the body, and we recommending standing at least once an hour in order to improve flexibility and movement.

Something as simple as walking to get a glass of water or cup of coffee, or walking to your car mid-morning to grab your lunch can get blood flowing and get you out of your hunched position at the desk.  Adjusting the height of your monitor can also impact the position of your next and spine.
